Rethink what we emit.
Rebuild what we share.

ThinkEmit works with schools, households and small businesses to cut everyday emissions and widen access to clean energy — through climate literacy, community carbon tracking and local green infrastructure.

About us

A community-first approach to climate action

ThinkEmit Foundation is a not-for-profit registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. We exist because most climate impact in India is decided locally — in classrooms, kitchens, workshops and rooftops — long before it shows up in a national inventory.

Our work sits at that local level: we help people measure what they emit, understand where the easiest reductions are, and get access to the tools — solar, efficient cookstoves, greener transport, better waste practice — to act on it.

We partner with schools, resident associations, municipal bodies and small enterprises, and we publish what we learn so other community groups can replicate it without starting from zero.

What we do

Four ways we lower emissions on the ground

Each program is designed to be locally run and easy to replicate — we bring the curriculum, tools and follow-up; communities bring the people and the place.

Education

Climate Literacy for Schools

A hands-on carbon-literacy curriculum and teacher training kit for grades 6–12, built around students auditing emissions in their own school.

Measurement

Community Carbon Watch

A simple toolkit that helps resident associations and small businesses track their own emissions and set a realistic, funded reduction plan.

Energy access

Clean Energy Access

Micro-grants and financing referrals that help low-income households and micro-enterprises switch to solar power and efficient cookstoves.

Green cover

Urban Green Cover

Plantation drives and pocket-forest restoration on public and institutional land, run with local volunteers and tracked for survival, not just count.
